The Coalition for Community Activism in Bermuda (CCAB) is an emerging organization which has its roots in a Community Empowerment Workshop held in March 2009. The workshop was conducted by US-based Ruckus Society and attracted significant interest from leaders in social and environmental advocacy groups in Bermuda. The 40 attendees decided it was important to sustain the philosophy and energy of this initial session by establishing an entity to support the active engagement of Bermudians in their community.

The central mission of the CCAB is to build an inclusive, just and sustainable community by providing training and development opportunities for civil society organizations.

  • We can build on and acknowledge the existing work that is being done in our community
  • We can bring people together through the common ground of skills for activism
  • With a critical mass of engaged people we can begin to influence the shape of social policy
